Can skimmer that is used by fraudster o?

I am in india. I have a State Bank maestro card that needs pin for shopping. So, if lost it can't be used for shopping or at atm. But I am worried about that skimmer thing. I say worried, as i tend to lose things. I read somewhere that skimmers "capture all the details and security code". Does security code mean atm pin ? Can skimmers capture my pin?
